Easter Mass in Africa

This morning (before all of the egg-hunting but after much egg-hiding) we attended Mass at the church where the children of EAC regularly attend Mass. Everyone looked fabulous in their Easter Sunday best and the church was extremely energetic - much due to the outstanding Youth Choir who sang out joyfully throughout the Mass.

We were privleged to meet Father Joe, the elebrant and Youth outreach director for the local diocese. You can see from his picture that Father Joe is a very vibrant and happy person - and the kids love his jokes and his upbeat messages. I knew that we were in for a special celebration when Father Joe welcomed us with open arms and a big smile to "This humble and empty tomb of Jesus Christ!"

  1. A special memory. I still remember our Easter in Brazil--Melanie, Linda, and I standing shoulder to shoulder outside of the little neighborhood church. And our Easter basket/bucket. :)
